Oil exploration

This program currently carries 3 licenses in Essaouira, Foum Assaka and Tarhazoute. These blocks are located at a water depth of 3,000 meters and together cover an area of about 25,000 km2.The Tarhazoute bloc, for which an oil agreement was signed between ONHYM and KOSMOS on October 10, will allow an integrated exploration on a large part of the Agadir basin, one of the last unexplored basins off the Atlantic coasts, as it is close to the Essaouira and Foum Assaka blocks.The partnership plans to begin drilling operations in the Agadir basin during the first half of 2014.
