Air traffic takes off

In a statement received by Industrie du Maroc, Mohammed V Airport recorded 615,479 passengers (+10.04%), the Marrakech-Menara Airport registered 285,369 passengers (+13.77%) and the Agadir Airport has registered 112,033 passengers (+12.78%).
International commercial air traffic reached 1,156,760 passengers in January 2014, an increase of 16.09% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Commercial domestic traffic increased by 11.61% in January 2014 compared to the same period of the previous year.
The European market that represents about three quarters of the volume of air traffic has increased significantly of 15.15%, parallelly market of the Maghreb, the Middle East, other countries of Africa and the domestic market recorded significant double-digit increases.
According to the same source, during the month of January 2014, there were 12,079 aircraft movements, an increase of 13.56% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Mohammed V airport is 49.48% of this traffic, Marrakech Menara 19.67% and Agadir Al Massira 7.73%.
Finally, note that the freight traffic recorded during the month of January 2014 a decrease of 4.56% compared to the same period of the previous year, it has reached 4 150.23 tonnes against 4 348.54 tonnes in 2013.
