Samsung stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7. The cause ? Its battery explodes when charging, according to Korean customers. This problem was relayed on social networks. The bad buzz spread like wildfire. Result: Samsung’s market capitalization has melted seven billions dollars. Investors had expected a negative impact on sales. The iPhone7, which goes on sale in the coming days, will therefore have no competitor.
In its press release, Samsung says that “it’s committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue“according to the press release sent to Industries.ma.
According to Samsung, “To date, 35 cases have been reported worldwide and we are conducting extensive investigations with all of our suppliers to identify any relevant and current batteries on the market. However, knowing that the safety of our customers is the top priority of Samsung, we suspended sales of the Galaxy Note7. About users who already have a Galaxy Note7 in their possession, we will voluntarily proceed in the coming weeks to exchange their device, “says Samsung.
According to rumors, Galaxy Note 7 will return to the market in October. Stay tuned.
